Day Service
Our programme includes music sessions and holistic therapies, both of which are popular for their relaxing and therapeutic benefits. We also place a strong emphasis on reminiscence activities, such as our Hampden Football Memories sessions, which allow guests to relive cherished sporting moments, and our Open Museum reminiscence kits, which are designed to spark memories and encourage meaningful conversations.
For those who enjoy creative pursuits, we provide arts and crafts classes where guests can explore their artistic side, whether through painting, drawing, or crafting. Traditional activities such as dominoes, quizzes, sing-alongs, and bingo are also available, offering familiar and fun ways to socialise and stay mentally active.
Throughout the year, we actively collaborate with local community groups on a variety of projects, enriching our activity programme and fostering a strong connection with the surrounding community.
Our enclosed garden, complete with raised flower beds and comfortable seating areas, provides the perfect outdoor space for those who enjoy gardening or simply want to relax in the fresh air. Guests are welcome to help us tend to the gardens or simply unwind in this peaceful setting.
Inside, our café-style dining room offers a warm and inviting space where you can spend time chatting with friends over a cup of tea or coffee. It’s the ideal spot to relax, socialise, and enjoy a moment of calm.
All activities and materials are provided free of charge, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to participate without any additional costs. At Bealach House, we are committed to providing a diverse and enriching experience for all our guests, promoting social interaction, creativity, and well-being.
Physical Activity Health & Wellness
At Bealach House, we place a strong emphasis on promoting physical activity, in line with the Care Inspectorate’s CAPA (Care About Physical Activity) guidelines. We are dedicated to helping our service users remain mobile, flexible, and independent for as long as possible, as we recognise the profound benefits of regular physical movement on both mental and physical well-being.
To achieve this, we encourage our service users to engage in a variety of light, everyday tasks that promote gentle movement, such as light gardening and simple housework. These activities not only help maintain physical mobility but also foster a sense of purpose and accomplishment, as service users take pride in contributing to their surroundings.
In addition, we offer a range of structured exercise and wellness sessions tailored to individual needs and abilities. These sessions are designed to be enjoyable and accessible, helping to improve flexibility, strength, and overall vitality. Whether it's stretching, gentle aerobics, or relaxation techniques, our exercise programme is focused on promoting health and well-being in a supportive environment.
Our weekly themed social dancing and singing afternoons are another highlight of our activity programme. These lively sessions provide an opportunity for service users to stay active while having fun, moving to music, and socialising with others. Whether joining in with the dancing or simply enjoying the music and atmosphere, these afternoons help to improve coordination, balance, and mental stimulation in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.
By incorporating physical activity into daily life at Bealach House, we aim to create a vibrant and supportive community where everyone can stay active, engaged, and independent for as long as possible.
