Patrick Harvie MSP visit
We were delighted to welcome Patrick Harvie MSP to Baillieston Community Care today.
During his visit, Mr Harvie met with our CEO David Reilly and our Chairperson Mary Miller to learn more about the vital work we do in supporting individuals with complex care needs, physical and learning disabilities, and older adults living in our local communities.
We discussed the challenges currently facing the social care sector, including recruitment, funding, and sustainability, and shared some of the innovative approaches we are taking to improve outcomes for those we support, including our care technology project and investment in staff wellbeing.
David Reilly, CEO of Baillieston Community Care, said:
“It’s so important that we take every opportunity to connect directly with our elected representatives to raise the issues that matter most – not only as a voice for the people we support, but also for the dedicated staff we employ. Meaningful conversations like today’s are key to influencing real change and ensuring the future of social care is one where quality, dignity, and sustainability are prioritised.”
We are grateful for the opportunity to have an open and meaningful conversation about the future of social care in Scotland and the role organisations like ours play in delivering high quality, person focused support.
Thank you to Mr Harvie for taking the time to visit and for recognising the dedication and compassion of our incredible staff team.
