Calico House: Transitioning to a Long-Term Care Home

We are pleased to announce that Calico House has been officially approved by the Care Inspectorate to transition from a respite service to a long-term care home. Moving forward, we will be providing dedicated, person led support for adults with complex care needs, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care in a stable and nurturing environment.

As part of this transition, our final day providing respite care will be Sunday, 2nd March 2025. This timeline allows us to make the necessary preparations to enhance our services and facilities, ensuring we are fully equipped to welcome our first long-term residents from Monday, 3rd March 2025. Our team is working diligently to ensure this change is as seamless as possible for both current and future residents, as well as their families and support networks.

This marks an important milestone for Calico House, reflecting our ongoing commitment to meeting the evolving needs of those we support. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has entrusted us with respite referrals over the years—your support has been invaluable, and we deeply appreciate the relationships we have built within the community.

If you would like to discuss making a referral for long-term care or have any questions about this transition, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. You can contact us at 01360 319010 or via email at manager@calicohouse.co.uk, and a member of our team will be happy to assist you.

Thank you for your continued support as we take this exciting step forward in ensuring Calico House remains a trusted and valued service for those who need it most.
